1. CHEP: LVA Health Academy Health Class- 8:50a- 10:10a, Monday 2/26 @ 1560 Valley Center Pkwy #200, Bethlehem, PA 18017 Hello all! We will be traveling to the local Lehigh Valley Academy on February 26th and 27th from 8:50-10:10 AM in order to present a combination of drug-related patient presentations, cases, and Jeopardy games with the children! It promises to be a rewarding and fulfilling time, so please come and help us out if you get a chance. Contact: Akshay Shanker, [email protected] 2. SGA: Spring Meeting- 5:00p, Tuesday 2/27 @ Estes Lecture Room Please join SGA for our spring organization meeting. It is required for at least one officer of each organization to be present. One person should not be attending on the behalf of multiple organizations. Please contact SGA if you would like to add anything to the agenda or with any questions/concerns. 3. PIG: Read on Dr. Seuss Day- Friday 3/2 Join St. Luke's faculty and staff on Read Across America, Friday, March 2nd, and read "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back," by Dr. Seuss to elementary school classes at a Bethlehem public school. Books will be provided and donated to the classroom. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time. A staff member of the Community Health Department will be present to coordinate volunteers on site the day of the event. Feel free to dress the part by wearing black, white, and red. CHEP: Liberty High School Health Fair- 7:30a, Tuesday 3/13 @ Liberty High School This is our annual health fair at Liberty High School. We have brand new posters for this year, covering a range of high school health topics such as alcohol use, smoking, drugs of abuse, etc. We rotate through health classes and teach students about the topics in informal presentations. We have two groups scheduled for 7:30-11AM and 11-2:30PM on Tuesday March 13th, 2018. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact us. WHIG: Re-Bra Event- 1:30p-3:00p, Thursday 3/15 @ Estes Lecture Room 2 WHIG is partnering with Re-Bra, a program that repurposes lightly used bras (mainly donated by women who have undergone surgical breast cancer treatment and no longer need them) by distributing them to low-income women in the area. We'll be attaching the "Breast Health Bill of Rights" to ~500 bras; it's super mindless, a lot of fun, and snacks will be provided! Come help us support this amazing initiative!
