MSK: Splinting Workshop - 12:00p - 1:00p, Wednesday 11/01 @ Estes Student Lounge
The MSK Interest Group is holding our yearly splinting workshop on 11/1/17 in Estes Student Lounge! We will split up into pairs with each student getting the opportunity to perform a Sugar-tong splint, a common upper extremity splint preventing forearm supination/pronation and wrist motion. The splint is composed of cotton web roll, molded plaster, and ace bandages. We don’t get much exposure to splints or casts in medical school, so this will be a valuable opportunity to become familiar with proper splinting techniques. A few of the orthopedic surgery residents from St. Luke’s will be there for instruction, and lunch will be provided! Contact: Tim Visser, [email protected] 3. AIG: Intro to Anesthesiology - 12:00p - 1:00p, Thursday 11/02 @ Estes Lecture Room 1 Dr. Carmona will be giving an introduction to the field of anesthesiology, and what to expect if you choose anesthesia as a career.
