1. EMIG: Heart Sound STEP1 Prep Lunchtime Talk- 12:00p- 1:00p, Monday 1/29 @ Estes Lecture Rooms This talk is an opportunity to review high-yield heart sounds topics for Step. Estes Surgical Society: Laparoscopic Training Session with Dr. El-Chaar- 3:10p, Monday 1/29 @ St. Luke's Allentown Campus Come join the Estes Surgical Society for an afternoon of hands on laparoscopic training with Dr. El-Chaar at St. Luke's Allentown. We will be meeting at Estes at 3:10 to carpool to the site - feel free to arrange your own transportation as needed. We will also plan on walking to pizza afterwards to cap off the day. CHEP: Project Lead the Way at Liberty- Emergency Medicine- 11:15a, Wednesday 1/31 @ Liberty High School Here is a great opportunity for Temple/St Luke's students to volunteer at Liberty High School's BMS Biomedical class (advanced class for high school students interested in the medical sciences). We will present an interactive medical lesson and mentor labs to fit the sessions subject. CHEP: Marvine Elementary Health Activities- 9:30a, Friday 2/23 @ Marvine Elementary (1425 Livingston Street Bethlehem, PA 18017-6799) Join Temple/St. Luke’s students and volunteer at Marvine Elementary’s Health Activities Day. We will be teaching 5th graders about nutrition, vaccinations, and mental health. This two hour session will be a fun way to sharpen your teaching skills and mentor elementary school students. We will be traveling to the local Lehigh Valley Academy on February 26th and 27th from 8:50-10:10 AM in order to present a combination of drug-related patient presentations, cases, and Jeopardy games with the children!
