CHEP: Project Lead the Way at Freedom H.S.- 11:20a, Wednesday 2/21 @ Freedom High School (3149 Chester Avenue, Bethlehem, PA 18020) Project Lead the Way will be visiting the Principles of Biomedical Sciences (PBS) and Medical Interventions (MI) classes at Freedom High School to give a presentation / interactive simulation session on DNA Analysis and Antibiotic Treatment respectively. This is a great opportunity for Temple / St. Luke's students to come volunteer and mentor high school students! CHEP: Health Fair at Freedom H.S.- 7:30a, Wednesday 2/21 @ Freedom High School Join Temple/St. Luke's students as we volunteer at Freedom High School's Health Day. We will be presenting to health classes about drugs and their effects on the body. The event will consist of a powerpoint presentation about drugs, standardized patient cases, and Jeopardy. This is a rewarding event, and we hope you will consider participating! CHEP: Marvine Elementary Health Activities- 10:00a- 12:00p, Friday 2/23 @ Marvine Elementary (1425 Livingston Street Bethlehem, PA 18017-6799) Join Temple/St. Luke’s students and volunteer at Marvine Elementary’s Health Activities Day. We will be teaching 5th graders about nutrition, vaccinations, and mental health. This two hour session will be a fun way to sharpen your teaching skills and mentor elementary school students. CHEP: LVA Health Academy Health Class- 8:50a- 10:10a, Monday 2/26 @ 1560 Valley Center Pkwy #200, Bethlehem, PA 18017 Hello all! We will be traveling to the local Lehigh Valley Academy on February 26th and 27th from 8:50-10:10 AM in order to present a combination of drug-related patient presentations, cases, and Jeopardy games with the children! SGA: Spring Meeting- 5:00p, Tuesday 2/27 @ Estes Lecture Room Please join SGA for our spring organization meeting. It is required for at least one officer of each organization to be present. One person should not be attending on the behalf of multiple organizations. Please contact SGA if you would like to add anything to the agenda or with any questions/concerns. 6. PIG: Read on Dr. Seuss Day- Friday 3/2 Join St. Luke's faculty and staff on Read Across America, Friday, March 2nd, and read "The Cat in the Hat Comes Back," by Dr. Seuss to elementary school classes at a Bethlehem public school. Books will be provided and donated to the classroom. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled time. A staff member of the Community Health Department will be present to coordinate volunteers on site the day of the event. Feel free to dress the part by wearing black, white, and red.
