Hello TUSM Students!
Are you interested in how Philadelphia prepared for medical emergencies during the Pope visit?? Well, come learn all about that are more at the annual TEAC Symposium! This year's theme is "Acutely Acting, Chronically Caring: Disaster Medicine in Focus" and will explore the relationship between acute and chronic disaster response. TEAC and TEACH are dedicated to responding to both types of disasters and this symposium will allow the Temple community to learn from how other organizations have an impact in this field. Temple University Hospital's Disaster Response Coordinator Dr. Ernest Yeh will be the keynote speaker and will be providing insight into Temple University Hospital's response to the Amtrak disaster last May. Following Dr. Yeh's discussion, there will be acute and chronic disaster breakout sessions facilitated by leaders in these areas. The symposium will conclude with a special appreciation of the individuals who have helped make this all possible, The Greenfield Foundation and Dr. Zoe Maher, a TUSM alumna who founded TEAC ten years ago. We welcome you to join us for a day of educational discussion on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the Medical Education and Research Building (MERB) from 8:30AM-2:00PM. Breakfast refreshments and lunch will be served. Please register for the event at http://tinyurl.com/teacsymposium2015. Thank you and we hope to see you there! Sincerely, TEAC Team
