Tuesday 10/20/2015, Ginsburg Medical Library, 12:00p.m.-1:00p.m. 1 out of 4 U.S. women and 1 out of 14 U.S. men has been physically assaulted or raped by an intimate partner. In Pennsylvania last year there were 141 deaths related to intimate partner violence. As a medical student and soon to be physician it is vital that you know how to screen your patients for intimate partner violence and know how to help. The first installment on Wednesday 10/21 at 12 PM will consist of an introduction to ECG basics. The second on Wednesday 10/28 will be a HANDS ON session where participants will acquire each other's 12-lead ECG (40 student max based on ECG machine availability) and the third session on Wednesday 11/4 at 12 PM (no student limit) will involve students analyzing their own ECGs they acquired the week before and a few other "unknown" ECGs of different cardiac dysrhythmias!
