Tuesday 10/20/2015, Ginsburg Medical Library, 12:00p.m.-1:00p.m. 1 out of 4 U.S. women and 1 out of 14 U.S. men has been physically assaulted or raped by an intimate partner. In Pennsylvania last year there were 141 deaths related to intimate partner violence. As a medical student and soon to be physician it is vital that you know how to screen your patients for intimate partner violence and know how to help. Temple Emergency Medicine Interest Group - EKG workshop series Tuesday 10/20/2015, MERB 319, 12:00p.m.-1:00p.m. Temple EMIG presents the first of a three part ECG series hosted by Dr. Wald and the emergency medicine faculty of Temple! The first installment on Wednesday 10/21 at 12 PM will consist of an introduction to ECG basics. The second on Wednesday 10/28 will be a HANDS ON session where participants will acquire each other's 12-lead ECG (40 student max based on ECG machine availability) and the third session on Wednesday 11/4 at 12 PM (no student limit) will involve students analyzing their own ECGs they acquired the week before and a few other "unknown" ECGs of different cardiac dysrhythmias! SNMA & LMSA - Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students Panel Thursday 10/22/2015, MERB 319, 12:00p.m.-1:00p.m. SNMA and LMSA are hosting a mentoring panel for pre-health students at Temple. The panel will include medical, dental, and pharmacy students who will share their experiences as minorities in the health field and answer questions. Attendees will include undergrad students in the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) and the Latino Pre-Health group. Pizza will be provided.
