Dr. Lessin was born and raised in the Philly area and got his MD degree from Temple University School of Medicine (woohoo!!). Internal Medicine Interest Group - Introduction of Temple's first ever High Risk Clinic Tuesday 10/6/2015, MERB 217, 12:00p.m.-1:00p.m. The Internal Medicine Interest Group (IMIG) is proud to be taking part in Primary Care Week. We will be hosting a talk on Tuesday, October 6th, at 12 pm in room 217. Internal Medicine Dr. Alexandra Lane will be discussing the circumstances that lead someone to become a “super health care utilizer”, and what we can do to help this patient subset. The community health workers are local residents who work with the hospital to engage patients and provide important services like home visits. Pediatric Interest Group - Vaccine Hesitancy Talk Wednesday 10/7/15, MERB 217, 12:00p.m.-1:00p.m. On Wednesday, October 7th, join the Pediatric Interest Group to celebrate Primary Care Week. We'll be hosting Dr. Feemster from CHOP, who will be sharing her research and perspective on the reasons parents are hesitant to vaccinate and how we can tackle that in our future practices. Stop by and learn how to perform punch/shave biopsies (derm procedures), a modified musculoskeletal exam, suturing and more from family medicine residency programs throughout the state. Physicians from Crozer, Bryn Mawr, Abington and UPMC Altoona will be in attendance. Lunch will be provided Family Med Interest Group - National Health Service Corps Friday 10/9/15, MERB 217, 12:00p.m.-1:00p.m. To conclude Primary Care Week, join Dallas Malzi, TUSM Class of 2017 and learn about the National Health Service Corps. Dallas is a National Service Corps scholar and will describe the scholarships and loan repayment available to physicians who work in underserved communities. Lunch will be provided.
