We hope to see you there. For more info: emily.kirchner@temple.edu Local medical student activists at Philadelphia's #TenOne: #Medicare4-for-All Day of Action! Citing the persistence of thousands of preventable deaths each year due to lack of health insurance, students at more than 26 medical schools across the country will hold teach-ins, rallies, and candlelight vigils on Oct. 1 (#TenOne) to bring national attention to 'our failing health care system' and the need for single-payer health reform. Students for a National Health Program (SNaHP) – working in coalition with the American Medical Student Association, WhiteCoats4BlackLives, the Latino Medical Student Association, Universities Allied for Essential Medicine, and PreHealth Dreamers – is sponsoring a day of action to remember the millions of people in our country who remain uninsured, underinsured, and underserved by our current health care system. We will also underscore the need for a more fundamental health reform – a nonprofit, publicly financed, single-payer health system. In Philadelphia, medical student leaders from the Temple University School of Medicine and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania will participate in this momentous nationwide day of action on October 1, 2015 from 6-7 pm at Dilworth Park on the west side of City Hall.
