TEAC Lunch Talk

Event Date: Thursday 9/15/16
Event Start Time:
12:00 PM-1:00 PM
Room TBD

We will be holding a lunch talk for the first years to get more information about the various aspects of TEAC, and I was thinking
Thursday, Sept.15 would be a good day for it. The talk will be mostly a Q and A panel, but at the beginning I wanted each group to have a few minutes to pitch their programs to the first years in order to get the word out. Primarily, we would like someone involved in disaster response, the spring trip, the student run clinic, the microclinics, and SELF/Kailo to attend the meeting and give a pitch. In addition, we will be having another board meeting the last week of September, and I would really appreciate it if everyone could think about what you hope to accomplish this semester, and how to get the first years involved (lunch talks, advertising, etc.). Please let me know who from each group will be attending the lunch talk, and I will get you more info about the board meeting as soon as I can.

Message from Hannah Zimmerman, an MS2 at LKSOM on a new student group:

Hey all - I'd like to let you know about a new resource available to students. We're starting a gathering for people who have experienced significant loss. This is a space to talk about loss with other medical students; many of us were inspired to enter medicine by deeply personal experiences which we come to face as we go through our professional training. It's modeled after The Dinner Party which (spoiler) is a potluck dinner party; we'll meet at my apartment in Center City every 4-6 weeks. First party is tentatively slated for end of September.

If you'd like to be on our confidential listserv or if you have any questions, email me at hannah.zimmerman@temple.edu
